Mr Attaf receives his Belgian counterpart

Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received Monday, at the ministry’s headquarters, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Development Cooperation of the Kingdom of Belgium, Maxime Prévot, who is on an official visit to Algeria.

 

In this regard, Attaf held private discussions with his Belgian counterpart, followed by an expanded working session with members of the delegations from both countries.

 

These discussions allowed reviewing the state of friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries” and “examining ways to elevate them to higher levels, up to their immense potential.

 

 

Both sides agreed on the need for concrete steps to revitalize bilateral cooperation, including activating follow-up mechanisms, updating legal frameworks, and promoting business exchanges to capitalize on partnership opportunities in sectors like renewable energy, transportation, mining, food processing, and pharmaceuticals.

 

 

At the multilateral level, the two ministers discussed association relations between Algeria and the European Union (EU) and joint efforts aimed at promoting peace, security and sustainable development in the Euro-Mediterranean space.

 

Both parties also exchanged views and analyses on a number of current regional and international issues, particularly the Palestinian question, the latest developments in the Sahelo-Saharan region and the Russo-Ukrainian war.
