Visa Application procedure to enter Algeria

Important information:

  1. Visa applications are submitted at the Embassy of Algeria in Vienna, with no prior appointment, Monday to Friday; from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. 

  2. Visa applicants are required to submit applications in person or via their representatives' holders of official power of attorney or through a travel agency.

  3. Business visa is granted to travelers to Algeria for the purpose of doing business, such as attending business meetings, taking part in economic events, or prospecting the market and exploring partnership opportunities with economic operators. This type of visa offers in no case the right to engage in paid work or activity. If proven otherwise, the visa holder loses all types of protection.

  4. Companies planning to send groups of employees for support missions or to provide installation and maintenance services are required to apply for a temporary work visa if the period does not exceed 03 months, or a work visa in other cases.

  5. The application forms must be filled out online clearly and accurately and pictures (4.5 cm * 3.5 cm)  attached as indicated on the form. Incorrect, unfilled, unclear, or unprinted forms will be rejected.

  6. The passport must contain at least two blank pages.

  7. The visa fees are paid in cash and are fixed as per passports citizenships, the period granted, and the number of entries.

  8. For specific cases, the Embassy of Algeria in Vienna may request additional paperwork.

  9. All visitors traveling to the south of the country having booked with authorized travel agencies could get a visa on arrival at airports and land borders with a validity of 30 days, instead of going through normal visa procedures. Wilayas (Provinces) affected by these measures are the following: Adrar, Illizi, Bechar, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Beni Abbas, Tindouf, Timimoun, Toggourt, Djanet, Ain Salah, El-Bayad, El-Oued, El-Djelfa, El-Menia, El-M’ghaier, El-Naama, Ouled Djellal, Biskra, Tamanrasset, M’sila, Ouargla, Ain-Guezzam, Ghardaia, Laghouat

 

Business Visa

1. Two (2) forms duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant (the form can be downloaded from this site)

2. Two (2) recent, identical biometric ID photos

3. Passport with a validity of at least six (6) months, plus copy of passport

4. Certification from the employer

5. Invitation from the Algerian partner or declaration of support from the inviting Algerian company

6. Insurance certificate in the event of illness, hospitalization and repatriation

7. For foreigners living in Austria or Slovakia a copy of their certificate of residence (Meldezettel)

 

Work Visa

1. Two (2) forms duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant (the form can be downloaded from this site)

2. Two (2) recent, identical biometric ID photos

3. Passport with a validity of at least six (6) months, plus copy of passport

4. Certification from the employer

5. A provisional work authorization issued by the competent Algerian authorities

6. A repatriation commitment issued by the Algerian employer

7. For foreigners living in Austria or Slovakia a copy of their certificate of residence (Meldezettel)

 

Tourist visa

1. Two (2) forms duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant (the form can be downloaded from this site)

2. Two (2) recent, identical biometric ID photos

3. Passport with a validity of at least six (6) months, plus copy of passport

4. An invitation from an Algerian national legalized by the APC (Accommodation certificate) or hotel reservation

5. Insurance certificate in the event of illness, hospitalization and repatriation

6. For foreigners living in Austria or Slovakia a copy of their certificate of residence (Meldezettel)

 

Family Visa

1. Two (2) forms duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant (the form can be downloaded from this site)

2. Two (2) recent, identical biometric ID photos

3. Passport with a validity of at least six (6) months, plus copy of passport

4. An invitation from an individual legalized by the APC (Accommodation certificate) or hotel reservation

5. Insurance certificate in the event of illness, hospitalization and repatriation

6. For foreigners living in Austria or Slovakia a copy of their certificate of residence (Meldezettel)

 

Cultural Visa

1. Two (2) forms duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant (the form can be downloaded from this site)

2. Two (2) recent, identical biometric ID photos

3. Passport with a validity of at least six (6) months, plus copy of passport

4. An invitation to participate in a cultural, scientific or sporting event and certificate of payment of accommodation costs

5. Insurance certificate in the event of illness, hospitalization and repatriation

6. For foreigners living in Austria or Slovakia a copy of their certificate of residence (Meldezettel)

 

Study Visa

1. Two (2) forms duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant (the form can be downloaded from this site)

2. Two (2) recent, identical biometric ID photos

3. Passport with a validity of at least six (6) months, plus copy of passport

4. Certificate of registration from a training center recognized by the Algerian State

5. Scholarship certificate, issued by the Algerian authorities or the authorities of the country of origin or certificate of study financing

6. Insurance certificate in the event of illness, hospitalization and repatriation

7. For foreigners living in Austria or Slovakia a copy of their certificate of residence (Meldezettel)

 

Visa Transit

1. Two (2) forms duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant (the form can be downloaded from this site)

2. Two (2) recent, identical biometric ID photos

3. Passport with a validity of at least six (6) months, plus copy of passport

4. Certificate of financing for the duration of transit

5. The passport must contain the visa of the final destination (if necessary)

6. Plane ticket

7. Hotel reservation, if the applicant stays more than 24 hours on Algerian soil

8. Insurance certificate in the event of illness, hospitalization and repatriation

9. For foreigners living in Austria or Slovakia a copy of their certificate of residence (Meldezettel)

 

Visa Services

1. Two (2) forms duly completed, dated and signed by the applicant (the form can be downloaded from this site)

2. Two (2) recent, identical biometric ID photos

3. Passport with a validity of at least six (6) months, plus copy of passport

4. Note verbal from the Austrian Federal Ministry for Integration, Europe and Foreign Affairs or the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, another ministry, diplomatic representation or organization international accredited in Austria
