Speech before people’s representatives demonstrates new vision for public affairs management, says President Tebboune
Algeria - President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, affirmed today, Sunday, in Algiers, that the commitment to deliver a speech before the people's representatives expresses the new approach followed in managing public affairs and the consecration of good governance.
In his speech to the nation before the two chambers of Parliament at the Palais des Nations in the Pine Club, the President of the Republic explained that “the commitment to speaking before the representatives of the people expresses the new approach to managing public affairs and establishing good governance,” and that it is also “an appreciation for the representatives of the nation.”
In his speech, the President of the Republic also referred to the municipal and state laws, which, in practice, represent the beginning of true democracy and the “completion of the construction of the state pyramid.”
On the other hand, the President of the Republic addressed the aspect related to dialogue, stressing that it "requires calm... without rioting and without compromise," adding: "There are those who demand change, while those who make this demand see themselves as not concerned with it."
On the economic side, the President of the Republic pointed out that "all economic and financial indicators of Algeria are in the green color with international recognition," adding in the same context: "All our economic indicators indicate that we are heading within months to be among the emerging countries," continuing by saying: "We have launched major projects and have entered for the first time since independence to exploit our wealth in the right way."
He also mentioned that there are mines being planned for exploitation that will be "generative of wealth and jobs", noting that "the railway that will reach Tamanrasset will help us exploit very important mining resources".
In a related context, he confirmed that the port of Oran "will receive the first shipments of Gara Djebilet iron in 2026."
In the energy file, the President of the Republic indicated that Algeria "has achieved self-sufficiency in electrical energy and has a surplus of 12,000 megawatts for export", recalling that Algeria "was importing gasoline until 2021, but today it produces it in all its types with Algerian hands".
Regarding agriculture, the President of the Republic stressed that “our agriculture has risen to a production equivalent to 37 billion dollars,” noting that “after durum wheat, our goal is to achieve self-sufficiency in soft wheat.”
Regarding the industrial aspect, the President of the Republic said: “Rest assured, we have put our finger on the wound in the industrial sector after industrial desertification reached 3% of the gross domestic product.”
By the way, the President of the Republic addressed members of the national community abroad, calling on them to "invest in their country so that they will never be referred to as foreigners."
He addressed them, saying: “Invest in your country and fight those who fight it, because the investment law will not change for 10 years.”
The President of the Republic also referred in his speech to the emerging institutions through which Algerian youth were able to "rise to the challenge", as they are now moving towards production for the benefit of their country in many fields, appreciating the meeting of young African emerging institutions in Algeria, for the first time since independence.
On another level, the President of the Republic stated that he had ordered the governors to create activity areas for craftsmen in remote areas, and this is “the right of the youth over us in these areas,” as he confirmed, adding: “Our youth represent a new generation with clean hearts and clean hands from methods of inflating invoices,” referring to the practices that ravaged the national economy in a previous era.
On the social side, the President of the Republic stopped at the issue of housing distribution, which he considered "the basis of the citizen's dignity and not a waste of money as the skeptics claim," stressing that "housing is no longer a burden on the state, because the projects are built with purely Algerian materials and we do not import them from abroad as in the past."
He added in this regard, saying: “They expected Algeria to explode due to our housing policy and then due to the decrease in the level of the dams, so Algeria responded by establishing a housing policy and giant projects for desalinating seawater.”
He added in the same vein: "They were waiting for us to fall before the International Monetary Fund when we hired teachers and exempted small salaries from taxes...and Algeria is still doing well."
Regarding purchasing power, the President of the Republic indicated that it will be raised during this term by "53 percent", as "we expect Algeria's income to increase through the increase in the production cycle."
On the other hand, the President of the Republic addressed those who claim that they left Algeria as a paradise after leaving it, reminding them that "on the eve of independence, 90 percent of the Algerian people were illiterate" and that "General Bugeaud annihilated the Algerians."
He added, "Colonialism left devastation in Algeria, and we are the owners of a right that will not be lost, and they must acknowledge the killing and slaughtering of Algerians," continuing in the same context, "They claim civilization and at the same time they are proud of stealing skulls as spoils."
In the same context, the President of the Republic called on them to clean up the nuclear waste at its testing sites in southern Algeria.
Regarding the Palestinian issue, the President of the Republic stressed that "we are steadfast in our positions towards Palestine until its independence."
He also touched on the Sahrawi issue, stating that "the idea of self-rule is a French idea, not a Moroccan one, and we have known this for decades," noting that "the options for solutions to the Western Sahara issue - for them - range between bitter and urgent, and it is an issue of decolonization and self-determination."
