Mrs. Mansouri attends 2025 Berlin UN Peacekeeping Ministerial

The secretary of State to the minister of Foreign Affairs, for African Affairs, Bakhta Selma Mansouri, is taking part in the 2025 UN Peacekeeping Ministerial in Berlin (May 13-14).

This high-level political forum is meant to discuss the current challenges of UN peacekeeping and the ways to strengthen the efficiency of the United Nations system in this vital area, mainly in the light of the many conflicts and crises, especially in Africa t, which is home to most peacekeeping operations.

Algeria's participation in the UN event reiterates its consistent support for political and peaceful solutions, and its commitment to support African and international efforts to restore stability and promote peace in conflict-affected areas, through a comprehensive approach promoting prevention and respecting the sovereignty of States.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the secretary of State held bilateral talks with a number of Foreign Ministers of participating countries, with whom she exchanged views on the ways to enhance peacekeeping cooperation and the means to coordinate efforts in support of global and integrated approaches to resolve crises, mainly in Africa.
