M. Attaf receives phone call from Iranian counterpart

The Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received Monday a phone call from his Iranian counterpart, Abbas Araghchi .

During the phone call, the Iranian Foreign Minister reviewed the latest developments concerning efforts to relaunch the diplomatic negotiation process, with the aim of definitively ending the military escalation in the Gulf region.

For his part, Attaf  reiterated Algeria’s firm conviction regarding the need to make every possible effort to reach a diplomatic solution to this conflict, which has affected the entire region . 

He also expressed hope that the current ceasefire would be consolidated and strengthened, as a stepping stone toward laying the groundwork for a political process that could create the necessary conditions for a lasting and sustainable peace across the region.
